Money: Fritz Frugal or Sally Spending?
Financial freedom means different things to different people. Some of us are quite happy and content to just have enough to get by comfortably. As long as we can pay the bills on time, have a roof over our heads and some ready cash in our pockets, we consider ourselves fortunate.
Others chase money as if it’s about to go out of fashion. They can never have enough of it and their lives revolve around making lots of moolah. The more they have, the more they want.
Money makes the world go round. Some of us are quite frugal with it and we’re always saving a little something for a rainy day. Others make it their mission in life to spend as much as possible as quickly as possible. Money has been known to burn holes in the pockets of those who are always on the lookout for a bargain.
Let Money Work for You
Real financial freedom means to be able to do with your time what you want without having to worry about where the next paycheck will be coming from. Since money and time are inversely linked, you can swop one for the other. You can pay someone to do the work you don’t want to be wasting time on yourself. Need to clean the gutters? Pay someone to do it and rather use your precious time doing something worthwhile.
When you’re loaded you can afford to choose how you spend your time. You may elect to tramp through the Amazon jungle, traverse the oceans of the world on a catamaran, scale the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro or wrestle with your 5-year old twins. You may go into the office to keep an eye on your minions or you can have your second-in-charge update you with the latest while you’re having a hot stone massage in the Bahamas.
Be a Good Steward of your Money
Money affords you both security and freedom. Without money you’re nothing more than a slave desperately trying to eke out a reasonable living. Money can be your boss and rule your life or you can be the ultimate steward of your money and let it work for you. It all depends on your particular outlook in life and the values you strive to uphold.
Use your money to better the lives of those you love and to do the things that make you happy – that is financial freedom encapsulated!
